Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-031350
Thank you for your email of 24 March 2024, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1.
Copies of Reports that were Issued to the ACC Pertaining to the Recommendation of Dissolution of
the Multi-Discipline Panel in 2018
2.
Correspondence forwarded to any Agency, by the ACC, for the Request of such
Reports/Recommendations
3.
Any other Correspondence that may Identify factors why such recommendations were made
Recommendation to disestablish the External Medical Panel (EMP)
The only paper that gives a recommendation or pertains to a recommendation for the disestablishment of
the EMP (which we understand to be the panel referred to in your request) was the memorandum of 22
February 2019. Please refer to our response of 9 August 2021 (Ref: GOV-012356) for this document.
That memorandum was drafted by ACC staff. No requests to any other agency for such recommendations
were made. Therefore, we are refusing question 2 as the correspondence requested does not exist. This
decision is made under section 18(e) of the Act.
Emails identifying ACC’s reasons to disestablish the EMP
We have identified an email from ACC’s Clinical Advice Manager, dated 27 March 2019, to panel members
regarding ACC’s decision to disestablish the EMP. The email outlines ACC’s reasons to discontinue the panel
and we have provided a copy of it with this response. As staff details were not requested, they have been
deemed outside the scope of your request and removed from the document. We have redacted the names
of panel members under section 9(2)(a) of the Act to protect the panel members’ privacy. We have
considered the public interest in the information and have determined that it does not outweigh their
privacy interests.
As this information may be of interest to other members of the public
ACC has decided to proactively release a copy of this response on ACC’s website. All requester data,
including your name and contact details, will be removed prior to release. The released response will be
made availab
