Thank you for your email of 15 April 2024 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE)
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing:
“Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, I would like to request the latest flowcharts
showing how INZ processes the fol owing applications:
1. 1. Skil ed migrant category
2. 2. Straight to Residence Visa
3. 3. Work to Residence Visa
4. 4. Permanent Resident Visa
5. 5. New Zealand citizenship endorsement
For the flowcharts, they should show every step from application received to application outcomes.”
On 1 May 2024, we emailed you to “Advice that we use the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which
are step-by-step guides to assist INZ staff in completing a task or activity and if you are after the SOPs for
your request”
On 3 May 2024, you advised you confirmed your request as “Yes, I am after the SOPs.”
I am writing to advise you that MBIE has decided to extend the period of time available to make a decision
on your request under section 15A(1)(a) of the Act, the request is for a large quantity of official information
or necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would
unreasonably interfere with the operations of the MBIE. . MBIE will notify you of a decision on your request
no later than 5 June 2024.
