Official Information Act 1982 request – Total amount of funding provided by Sport New 
Zealand to New Zealand Football and Football South, in 2020 and 2023.

This letter responds to part of your Of icial Information Act 1982 (OIA) request received by Sport 
New Zealand (Sport NZ) on 27 April 2024 requesting the below information: 
•  Total amount of funding provided by Sport and Recreation New Zealand to New 
Zealand Football and Football South (separately) in 2020 and 2023. 
 
The total amount of funding provided to New Zealand Football by Sport NZ:

Sport New Zealand recognises and partners with the overarching entity, in this case is NZ Football, 
to deliver initiatives to its membership base. Football South is an affiliated member organisation to 
NZ Football and can receive benefits from the relationship that they have. This is not provided 
directly from Sport New Zealand to Football South. 
 
As Sport NZ do not directly fund Football South, the second part of your request is refused under 
Section 18(e), as the information requested for total funding amount provided to Football South 
does not exist.
