Our response
From 2021 to date, ACC has not provided Mātai Medical Research Institute with concussion research costs
or funding.
The table below shows the number and cost of all ACC funded MRI brain scans provided under ACC’s High
Tech Imaging Services contract and estimated travel cost for those services from 2021 to date.

Notes about the data provided.
• ACC funded client travel is not directly linked in ACC’s payments system to other funded services, e.g.
brain MRI scans. Because of this, ACC cannot accurately provide the cost for travel specifically for
travel to MRI brain scans. Therefore, we have estimated the cost by finding ACC funded client travel
that occurred on the same day as an ACC funded MRI brain service for the same claim.
• Data does not include payments or travel costs paid by Accredited Employers for claims they manage.
• Costs are exclusive of GST.
• Data were extracted on 17 May 2024 and may differ if rerun later.
