Official Information Request – Law Student Numbers and Diversity
I refer to your requests for official information of 30 April 2024 and clarification of 3 May 2024
respectively, in which you have requested the following information:
1. The total number of law students who are enrolled at the university in 2024 by headcount.
2. The number of law students by year level from 1st year - 5th year and above.
3. The number of law students who identify as Asian, European, Māori, MELAA (Middle Eastern, Latin
American, and African), Pasifika, and other.
4. The number of law students who identify as Male, Female, and Gender diverse.
Under the Official Information Act 1982 (Act) the University of Waikato (University) has considered
your request and provides the following information.
1. The total number of law students enrolled at the University in 2024 is 1,318.
2. The number of law students within each year is as follows:
