Thank you for your email on 10 May 2024, asking Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health
NZ) for the following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I am requesting a complete list of all GP/A&E clinics in New Zealand, registered in the
last 12 months and their respective ESU.
Response
In respect of your request for information relating to GP and A&E clinics, Health NZ publishes a
facility code table on its website. The information in the table, which is updated on a monthly basis,
includes both facility types and opening dates. The relevant information can be found at:
www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/for-health-professionals/data-and-statistics/nz-health-statistics/data-
references/code-tables/common-code-tables/#facility-code-table.
With respect to the final part of your request, data on the number of enrolled service users by
practice level is not made publicly available as it is commercially sensitive. As such, we are
declining to provide this information pursuant to section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the Act, i.e.
“…to protect the
commercial position of the person who supplied the information, or who is the subject of the
information”.
