I have had a tip off from an angler about some river works on the Wainuiomata river at "Totara Downs"
1044 Coast Road, Wainuiomata. The property was recently purchased by Mr Mike Friday of Friday homes
who al egedly has a consent to create a river crossing at the property.
I have attached a video of the work.
Are you able to have a look at this one, particularly the scope of works and property boundaries where the
work has been undertaken.
Thanks and have a great week,

Details: GW email rcvd 15 April 23 @4.11pm Hi following up a call to the
environmental hotline with this photo. High levels of sediment in the water at
Baring
ast Road Wainuiomata. Today 340pm - 15/04/23 Spoke to Park
ranger
who advised she reported it last weekend to Environmental
hotline
cleared up over the week. Suspect this is weekend work
occurring on one of the properties just north of Baring head. No sign of
sediment in water upstream at Wainuiomata township from either Moore's valley or
black creek and although hard to tell it also didn't appear to be in the water
to the north of baring head where the river is stoney and comes back near the
road. If you can send someone out to check tomorrow that would be great as it's
pretty bad (appears to be high levels of sediment). ***photo emailed to duty

Type: other Hiya. I'm writing to report a water quality issue on the Wainuiomata
River. The address above is not my property. The landowner gave me permission to
fish the river two weeks ago, which I have done in the past. I found the river
full of mud and silt coming from the farm upstream. The caretaker told me that
the property upstream recently changed hands and the new owner has been doing
lots of earth works and putting sediment into the water regularly. Upstream of
the neighbor's farm, the river was perfectly clear. I'm concerned about the
impacts on riparian habitat and wanted to let you know. Address: 1114 Coast

Dump on Beach I am reporting that someone has dumped some pallets, on the beach
side of the bottom carpark coast road beach. Can they be removed before they are
set on fire. As a keen walker of the beach and road between the carparks I am
finding that the area is being used more and more as a dumping ground. I tend to
go down to the coast road twice a week to collect Rubbish on the beach and the 4
carparks. Q> What is the Sink? A> Q> What is the Affected Site? A> Q> What is
