[FYI request #27002 email]
Dear T Dobbie
Thank you for your two emails of 25 May 2024 to the Ministry for the Environment (the
Ministry) requesting the following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Request One
Please advise the total expenditure to AECOM the consulting company (from the US)
or their NZ company for the last 10 years. I am after a breakdown by year and type of
work consulted on.
Request Two
Please advise the total expenditure to Jacobs the consulting company (from the US)
or their NZ company for the last 10 years. I am after a breakdown by year and type of
work consulted on.
This letter responds to both of your requests.
The Ministry is required to report on contractors and consultants every year as part of the
annual review select commit ee process. A component of the Ministry’s annual review
submission includes an appendix that details the contractors and consultants utilised by the
Ministry that year including the supplier’s legal name, the contract value, and a description of
the work completed for each contract.
We refer you to the Parliament website, specifically the select commit ee page where you
can search for annual review submissions and associated appendices for each agency by
year and commit ee. The link to the Environment Commit ee annual review submissions is
located here:
Submissions and Advice - New Zealand Parliament (www.parliament.nz).
Note the 2023/24 annual review responses wil be made publicly available upon completion
of the 2023/24 select commit ee process later this year.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Of ice of the Ombudsman of
my response relating to this request, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The
relevant details can be found on their website at:
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
Please note that due to the public interest in our work the Ministry for the Environment
publishes responses to requests for official information on our
OIA responses page shortly
after the response has been sent.
If you have any queries about this, please feel free to contact our Ministerial Services team:
