Dear D Watson
OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 2024/35
On the evening of 28 May 2024 you made a request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
OIA) for the following information:
I have been reviewing OIAs to the Electoral Commission. I note the following OIA
https://fyi.org.nz/request/23742/response/91393/attach/html/4/OIA%20response%202023%20

Reports for the months around the actual election were not provided.
It states..."10 sets of monthly reports for 2022/23 covering operational detail. The latter monthly
reporting is for internal use and is considered by the Commission’s Executive Leadership Team".
What does that mean?
Our monthly reports are used by the Electoral Commission’s Executive Leadership Team to track
progress. These reports are not reported outside of the Commission.
Can you please release these documents; July 2023, August 2023, September 2023, October 2023
and November 2023. These should be readily available.
Please see attached the monthly report compiled for internal use for the month of July 2023.
Some names have been withheld under s 9(2)(a) of the OIA which relates to the privacy of natural
persons.
Monthly reporting from August 2023 to October 2023 was suspended due to the 2023 General
Election. There was no monthly reporting for November 2023 and December 2023 because such
reports are compiled at the end of the following calendar month, which was during the summer
break.
The Commission’s 2023 Annual Report will provide additional reporting on our performance against
our key priorities, a copy can be found her
