• By-election logins creating some issues for staff, not having access to apps that are required.
• Wifi coverage an issue at HQ,

South Island Region
• Nelson Recount: Judge from Wellington has been in contact with the Electorate Manager and will be
arriving in Nelson tomorrow. He wants to start on Thursday (9 November) if possible and is keen to work
through Saturday if needed. Regional Manager has called all counting staff to find out their availability
from Thursday to Monday.
• We are assuming the judge is doing some preparatory work as the judge hasn’t officially notified the
Electoral Commission that an application for a recount has been lodged.
• Sue
from Enrolment will be at Nelson on Thursday to assist.
Auckland South Region
• Preparing for Tāmaki Makaurau recount.
• Received information from Voting Services regarding information and materials required, receiving ballot
papers across different HQs by Thursday.
• Extracting ballot boxes and material by tomorrow.

Thunderstorm Outlook
The active front continues southwards from Auckland into the
Bay of Plenty and Tairāwhiti this afternoon and evening,
preceded by heavy rain and easterly gales.
Behind this front, a slow moving low near Northland has
associated troughs moving across the upper North Island
throughout this period.
There is a moderate risk of thunderstorms over northern
Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula in the afternoon, and
over Northland in the afternoon through to evening. A low risk
of thunderstorms extends across other areas of the upper
North Island and northern Tairāwhiti.
Severe Weather Outlook A deep slow moving low of subtropical origin is expected to
impact east of Northland on Tuesday, then weaken and
move away to the southeast on Wednesday. Severe weather
warnings and watches are in force for wind and rain
associated with the low over parts of the northern and central
North Island on Sunday and Monday.
There is low confidence that rainfall amounts about eastern
Northland, northern Auckland, Great Barrier Island,
Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua and northern
Tairāwhiti could reach warning criteria on Tuesday.
A slow moving low is expected to impact the western side of
the South Island from Wednesday to Friday, with associated
rainbands moving over the country at times. There is low
confidence that rainfall amounts in southern parts of Otago
(including Dunedin) and Southland may reach warning
criteria on Thursday.
