I refer to your official information request dated 22 June 2024 for information on the new EMU trains being 
delivered. 
 
Al  of the units are built to the same ‘class AM’ design.  The new units wil  have updated on-board signal ing 
systems, more efficient LED Lighting and some updates to the traction and control systems to al ow for 
future operation as 9-car trains.  These changes are being retrofit to the existing fleet.  The new units wil  
also come with USB charging points on the wal s between seats.
