✓ The new vehicle designs provide excel ent visibility:
✓ The NZ Post Blue base colour provides a great canvas
for the contrasting red and white reflective signwriting
to stand out.
✓ For high visibility the decals must al be
in NGR material – the combination of the colours and
materials provides ultimate visibility in daylight, night-
time and poor weather conditions.
✓ The higher conspicuity HCR reflective material was too
dazzling and distracting to other drivers at night and
may provide an unnecessary hazard.
✓ The white only chevrons performed wel during the daytime
and at night.
✓ Al vehicles must be fitted with white chevrons to the rear.
✓ Trucks and vehicles operating in rural areas or areas with no
or low il umination must have chevrons on the front
bonnet. Front chevrons must be the wider version.
✓ Testing of the amber LED flashing light proved to be a huge
safety feature and must be fitted to al vehicles operating in
rural areas or areas where there’s no or low il umination.
✓ The use of a recommended specification flashing LED amber
light bar be mounted as close as possible (approximately
300mm) to rear of roof of the van and its height is 10mm
above the highest point of the vehicle.
