Please find
attached your requested information. Note that where there are five or less students in a particular
category, the actual number is not provided, rather a range of less than or equal to five (≤5). This is to protect the
individual’s privacy under s 9(2)(a) of the Act. It is in the public interest that individuals are not identifiable when
providing information about course numbers.
Regarding the questions around maximum number of students, there is no limit to the number of students
entering the BE(Hons) First Year at UC. The limitation of entry numbers for the different engineering
specialisations in the Second Year (formerly cal ed the ‘First Professional Year’) is listed in the
Admissions
Regulations in the Calendar. Therefore, this part of the request is refused under OIA s 18(d), as this information is
publicly available.
Please note that Biomedical Engineering is available as a minor in Mechanical Engineering, therefore any student
counted there wil also be reflected elsewhere.
