Thank you for your Official Information Act request, received on 30 July 2024. You 
requested:
In a press conference today, you stated that the amount of funding 
provided to Health NZ is consistent with the advice received "about what would 
needed to be met their cost pressures." You stated "Treasury advised me that we 
could give them a lower amount of cost pressure funding... we opted to stick to 
the commitment that was in our fiscal plan". You also you did not directly answer 
whether a higher budget bid was submitted.
Please provide the advice you received from Treasury re: Health NZ's cost 
pressures, cost pressure funding options (including the advice which outlined the 
lower amount cost pressure funding option), and if they exist, documents related 
to the higher budget bid.
Information publicly available
The information in scope of your request is due to be released as part of a proactive 
release on Health New Zealand finances as wel  as the Budget 2024 proactive release. 
These releases wil  be available at: https://www.treasury.govt.nz/publications/other-
official-information/information-releases in due course.
