INFORMATION REQUEST
On 6 August 2024 you asked for information about a rainbow crossing. Here is our response
to your questions:
I kindly request all communications, meetings notes or documents since Nov 01
2023 regarding a rainbow crossing in the Tauranga CBD. Please provide details
of any groups consulted on a rainbow crossing and any groups, businesses that
have contacted TCC in support/opposition to a rainbow crossing.

We have previously provided and published a response requesting correspondence
about the crossing, the response letter and attachment can be found at the following

Since 15 April 2024, we can provide the following updates:
  Staff met with petition organiser Gordy Lockhart on 7 May 2024. The discussion
was the petition and confirmation that staff would proceed based on resolution
CO9/24/3. Notes are contained in the email correspondence.
  Staff met on 30 July 2024 to discuss the council paper. There were no notes.
  We have not engaged with any other groups regarding the rainbow crossing
and currently have no plans to. There is a paper due to go to Council within the
next few months, it is anticipated that this paper will be publicly available once
the agenda is published.
  Attachment  1  provides  further  correspondence  not  included  in  the  previous
response.

Section 7(2)(f) maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and
frank expression of opinions by or between or to members or officers or employees
of any local authority in the course of their duty.
