Dear Steve, 
  
Thank you for your email of 8 August 2024 requesting the following information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
  
“Please confirm if your wife and childs [sic] travel to Paris with you in your capacity as 
sports and recreation minister was taxpayer funded and if so the cost for their travel 
and accommodation. 
My wife and child did not accompany me on this trip. As such, I do not hold any information 
in scope of your request, and am refusing your request under section 18(e), as the 
information does not exist. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review of our response by the Ombudsman, 
in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant details can be found on the 
Ombudsman’s website at: www.ombudsman.parliament.nz
