Thank you for your email of 7 August 2024 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council (the
Council), requesting the following information:

In relation to the Wellington City Council 2024/34 Long Term Plan, please provide any letters,
emails, Txt messages, WhatsApp messages, Signal messages, Viber messages, calendar
appointments, and handwritten/typed notes/recordings of phone conversations/meetings
between:
1. Cr Diane Calvert and the Office of the Auditor General
2. Cr Tony Randle and the Office of the Auditor General
3. Cr Ray Chung and the Office of the Auditor General
4. Cr Diane Calvert and Minister Simeon Brown (and/or his staff)
5. Cr Tony Randle and Minister Simeon Brown (and/or his staff)
6. Cr Ray Chung and Minister Simeon Brown (and/or his staff)
7. Cr Diane Calvert and Minister Nicola Wil is (and/or her staff)
8. Cr Tony Randle and Minister Nicola Wil is (and/or her staff)
9. Cr Ray Chung and Minister Nicola Wil is (and/or her staff)
for the period between 1 May and 30 June 2024.
Your request is being considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act
1987 (LGOIMA).
In answer to questions 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9, please find attached, as
Appendix 01 to my response, a
table detailing the correspondence being released to you and the decision on the release. Some
information has been withheld from the correspondence pursuant to section 7(2)(a) of the LGOIMA, to
protect the privacy of natural persons, and section 7(2)(f)(i ) of the LGOIMA, to maintain the effective
conduct of public affairs through the protection of such members, of icers, employees, and persons
from improper pressure or harassment.
As per section 7(1) of the LGOIMA, I do not consider that in the circumstances of this response, the
withholding of this information is outweighed by the other considerations which render it desirable in
the public interest to make the information available.
In answer to questions 2, 5 and 8, no correspondence was found between the relevant Council or and
recipient, therefore I am refusing those portions of your request pursuant to section 17(e) of the
LGOIMA, as the document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist, or despite
reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be found.
Some information contained with the email chains is considered to not be in scope of your request
and as such has been marked as “out of scope”.
You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(1) of the LGOIMA, to request an
investigation and review of the Council’s decision to withhold and refuse information by the
Ombudsman. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
