Official Information Act 1982 request for information related to the GovGPT project
Thank you for your email of 16 September 2024 requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act),
the following information:
1. Al technical design documents related to the GovGPT project.
2. Al supporting contracts associated with the GovGPT project, including standard terms of service.
3. Any privacy impact analysis conducted for the GovGPT project.
4. Any algorithm impact assessment conducted for the GovGPT project.
5. Any other AI risk analysis documents related to the GovGPT project.
The information you have requested is enclosed. There are five documents in scope of your request - these
are itemised, along with our decision on the release of each document, in the document schedule below. For
further context for document 2b, please note that these terms of reference are a living document, and
therefore represent a snapshot at a particular point in time, and it is intended that these wil continue to
evolve. As a result of this, some information is therefore out of date.
Information that is deemed out of scope of your request has been removed, and it is necessary to withhold
some information under the fol owing sections of the Act:
•
section 9(2)(a), to protect the privacy of individuals
•
section 9(2)(b)(i ), to protect information where releasing the information would be likely to
unreasonably prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject
of the information
•
section 9(2)(f)(iv) to protect the confidentiality of advice tendered by the government
•
section 9(2)(ba)(i) to protect information which is subject to an obligation of confidence
•
section 9(2)(f)(iv) to protect confidential advice to the government
•
section 9(2)(g)(i) to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and frank
expression of opinions
In accordance with the “public interest” test under section 9(1) of the Act, I do not consider the withholding of
this information to be outweighed by other considerations which render it desirable, in the public interest, to
make that information available.
