Extension of time to respond to request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 19 September 2024 requesting the following information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
Please provide all communication, including emails, letters, briefings, between yourselves 
and the Minister of Transport/his office that mentions or alludes to Te Ahu a Turanga 
Manawatu Taraua Highway and tolls since 27 November 2023. 
 
Additionally, in your response letter, if possible could you please advise if the Minister has 
provided direction regarding a potential use of tolls on this road. 
 
This letter is to advise you that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is extending the 20 
working days available to respond to your request, as allowed for under section 15A of the Act. 
We require an additional seven working days and wil  send you a response on or before 29 
October 2024.  
 
The deadline is being extended as the consultations necessary to make a decision on your 
request are such that a thorough response cannot reasonably be made within the original 20-
working-day limit.  
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to complain to the Ombudsman about the 
extension. More information about the Ombudsman is available online at 
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
