Thank you for your Official Information Act request received on 27 September 2024. You
requested:
“Thank you for your recent reply- Ref: OIA-2023/24-0235
Can you please provide an update information on this if anything changed and
can you also let me know the date/time that the shortlist has been decided for the
past 5 year.
Further, you said "correspondence to proposed recipients as to whether they wish
to accept a proposed honours appointment or award has been sent by the Clerk
of the Executive Council on behalf of the Governor-General, rather than by the
Official Secretary of Government House. " can you please let me know when the
correspondence to proposed recipients wil be sent after the meetings. e.g. within
2 weeks?

The Honours process remains the same as that set out in our response to your request of
25 October 2023 and your initial request of 31 May 2018. The date of the last meeting of
the Cabinet Appointments and Honours Committee for each list –Queen’s/ King’s Birthday
(QB/KB) and New Year (NY) – for the last five years is set out below:

In relation to your second question, the Clerk of the Executive Council usual y writes to
proposed recipients within two to four weeks fol owing the conclusion of the APH meetings,
although this timeframe may vary.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under
section 28(3) of the Act.
This response wil be published on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s
website during our regular publication cycle. Typical y, information is released monthly, or as
otherwise determined. Your personal information including name and contact details wil be
