Thank you for your email of 18 November 2024 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment 
(MBIE) further clarifying your request DOIA-REQ-0004387 and requesting, under the Official Information 
Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
 
“Communication between MBIE and Sir Peter Gluckman relating to the membership selection 
process of the Science Systems Advisory Group including the selection and acceptance of the 
chair” 
 
I am writing to advise you that MBIE will provide a response but needs to extend the time available to 
answer your request. The reason for the extension applies to section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as 
consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response cannot be 
made within the original time limit. 
 
MBIE’s response wil  be sent to you no later than 20 January 2025. However, we will respond to you 
sooner if we are able to. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision, in 
accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
