Due to an administrative error, the initial response you received (ref: HNZ00068104) was meant to
include the responses to your other requests in one combined letter. I apologise for the delay in
providing our response.
Health NZ is working urgently to develop options for New Dunedin Hospital that can be achieved
within the budget and deliver modern, fit-for-purpose health facilities that will enhance clinical
safety and enable new models of care. This work will be completed over the coming weeks.
The document has been withheld under the following sections of the Act:
• 9(2)(b)(ii), if released, it would be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position
of the person who supplied or who is the subject of the information.
• 9(2)(g)(i) of the Act to protect the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and
frank expression of opinions.
• 9(2)(f)(iv), as it is under active consideration, and its release would harm the orderly and
effective conduct of executive government decision making processes.
• 9(2)(j), to enable a Minister of the Crown or any public service agency or organisation
holding the information to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations
(including commercial and industrial negotiations).
Where we have withheld information under section 9 of the Act, we have also considered any
countervailing public interests in the release of this information. We do not believe that the public
interests outweigh the need to withhold, in this instance.
