Extension of time for request for information 2024-257 
I refer to your request for information dated 3 October 2024, which was received by Greater 
Wellington Regional Council (Greater Wellington) on 3 October 2024. 
Greater Wellington considers it necessary to extend the timeframe to advise you of our decision 
on your request, to 22 November 2024. This is an extension of 15 working days. 
This decision is made pursuant to section 14 of the Local Government Official Information and 
Meetings Act 1987 on the basis that your request is for a large quantity of information and 
meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations.  Greater 
Wellington also needs to carry out consultations necessary to make a decision on your request. 
As such, a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. 
If you have any concerns with the decision(s) referred to in this letter, you have the right to 
request an investigation and review by the Ombudsman under section 27(3) of the Local 
Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.
