Subject: Query from Stuff re Upper Hutt

Hi Wayne

I'm Annemarie from Stuff. As we have been focusing on the cbd a lot this week in light
of the WFH debate, we'd like to take a look at Upper Hutt - or both Upper and Lower

The crux of it is how UP/The Hutt Valley has shed its bogan /badlands image and
become a highly desirable place to live?

But frame it in a positive way looking at its growth/future growth and challenges.

I 'm going to follow the structure and tone of this story we did yesterday on
Rolleston https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/350429728/town-future-rise-and-rise-
christchurch-suburb-rolleston

And using the subheads of: house prices, shops/retail/hospitality, schools,
population, jobs

Is this something you could comment on for each subhead?

Happy to do over the phone if you prefer but I thought it would be helpful to write it
out - and hopefully you already have some of this data/comment to hand.

Also looking to feature in the story -and video, someone who has recently moved
to the Hutt to buy a house, and why they chose it over other areas. And if possible,
someone who has recently chose it to open a biz.

Gosh this is a lot for a Friday morning isn't it - but would you have time to look at
this today? Doesn't have to be super long answers - just the main points.

Let me know what works

Thanks so much, appreciate your time and insight
Annemarie
