Please note that the official notice of resignation must be by notice in writing addressed to and delivered to the Chief Executive. The notice takes effect on the day on which it is delivered to the Chief Executive (clause 4 of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 202).
A reminder to diary this for 31 October 2024!
Mike

Subject: Resignation- Jamie Arbuckle
Hi Nadine
Just to confirm that my last day at Council will be Thursday 31st of October. I will be present at the Council meeting that day.
The decision to leave is due to my new role as a MP and the increasing workload to cover the two positions. My understanding is the resignation falls within one year of the next local body elections and therefore Council can make a decision onto holding or not holding a by election.
I will also return my Council IPad and swipe tags to the building. Please let me know of any other requirements.
I thank you for your understanding and support as I have transitioned between the two roles.
Regards
Clr J Arbuckle
