Thank you for your email of 19 October 2024 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council (the 
Council) requesting the following information: 
 
•  I request all communications in any form between Councillor Young and any government 
ministers in September and October 2024. 
 
Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act 
1987 (LGOIMA). 
 
Councillor Young attended a dinner on 18 September 2024 where Minister Simon Watts was in 
attendance however, they did not have a substantial conversation beyond pleasantries.  
 
Outside of this dinner, there is no further communication between Councillor Young and any 
government ministers in the timeframe requested. For this reason, your request has been refused 
under section 17(g) of the LGOIMA as the information requested is not held. 
 
You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(1) of the LGOIMA, to request an 
investigation and review of the Council’s decision to withhold information by the Ombudsman.
