Response to your official information request
Thank you for your official information request received on 22 October 2024 for
information relating to the Public Works Act review, namely the:
• “panel structure of the independent expert advisory review panel
• the reports, findings and recommendations drafted by the panel.”
The expert advisory panel was comprised of five members, including chair Charlotte von
Dadelszen. Members were selected for their skil s, expertise and knowledge of working in
sectors that interact with the operations of the Public Works Act including land
acquisition and disposals, infrastructure asset management, engineering, treaty
negotiations and local government.
Further information on the panel, including the Terms of Reference and a bio on the
members, can be found online at
https://www.linz.govt.nz/our-work/projects/public-
works-act-review. The panel advice paper has been withheld in full under section 9(f)(iv) of the Official
Information Act, as it is stil under active consideration by the Minister for Land
Information.
We are of the view the withholding of the information is not outweighed by the public
interest to make that information available.
If you wish to discuss this decision with us, please feel free to contact
[email address]. You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
