Thank you for your email, received on 24 October 2024, to Oranga Tamariki—Ministry 
for Children (Oranga Tamariki), requesting the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
•  Please outline the process related to management of concerns related to 
sexual assault, in children and young people who are already in Oranga 
Tamariki services or care. 
•  Provide aggregate figures nationally, on the number of children who have 
experienced sexual assault whilst under OT care, over the past decade 
The consultations necessary to make a decision on this request are such that a proper 
response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. For this reason, I 
am extending the time limit for providing you with the information to 6 December 2024 
in accordance with section 15A(1)(b) of the Act. We will try to respond sooner than this 
date if possible.
