Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 31 October 2024 for information regarding
nominations for the Health Research Council of New Zealand. Each part of your request is
addressed below:

May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
The roles on the Health Research Council were publicly advertised on the Ministry’s careers
webpage and the New Zealand Government Jobs website from 4 March 2024 until 18 March
2024.
Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you have
received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your
role.
The Ministry received 30 applications in total. Of those, 28 applications were received from
members of the public. Nominations were also sought from a variety of nominating agencies. No
nominations were received from any of the nominating agencies. Two nominations were
received from ministerial offices.
How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
Thirteen candidates were shortlisted. Of these, six were involved in due diligence interviews.
