Thank you for your request dated 3 November 2024 to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities for the
following information under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Al questions related to Ohakune Social Housing Project at Teitei Drive from inception to date.
1./ Please provide all costs associated & paid by Kainga Ora with with breakdown of amount
and payee
2./ Please provide all costs associated forwarded or referred to Ruapehu District Council for
payment with a breakdown of of amount and payee
3./ Please advise if any negotiations are ongoing with Ruapehu District Council for any
payments & please advise the amount in dispute or in negotiation.
4./ Please provide a total FTE hours or cost to Kāinga Ora for the project
5./ Please advise if any further discussions or negotiations exist (other than those stated
above) with regards to land development, management in Ohakune.
I wil address each of your questions in turn.
1./ Please provide all costs associated & paid by Kainga Ora with breakdown of amount and
payee
As with all projects, standard development costs are incurred before the physical work on the site
starts. These costs cover due diligence, planning and design work, such as environmental and traffic
management reports needed for the resource consent application and community events. This work
helps to inform utilities, infrastructure, amenities and land development required to deliver the project.
The tables in the appendix to this letter sets out the costs paid.
2./ Please provide all costs associated forwarded or referred to Ruapehu District Council for
payment with a breakdown of amount and payee
There are no forwarded or referred payments to RDC. I am therefore refusing this part of the request
under section 18(e) of the Act as the document alleged to contain the information does not exist.
3./ Please advise if any negotiations are ongoing with Ruapehu District Council for any
payments & please advise the amount in dispute or in negotiation.
There are no ongoing negotiations and no amounts in dispute.
4./ Please provide a total FTE hours or cost to Kāinga Ora for the project
We cannot provide a total FTE hours or costs to Kāinga Ora as this information is not collected and
recorded in a way that these figures can be easily calculated or provided. I am therefore refusing this
part of the request under section 18(g) of the Act as the information is not held.
5./ Please advise if any further discussions or negotiations exist (other than those stated
above) with regards to land development, management in Ohakune.
At the date of your request, no further discussions or negotiations in relation to land development in
Ohakune are taking place.
