I am responding to your email of 4 November 2024 to the Department of Internal Affairs 
(the Department) requesting the fol owing under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
I am politely and formally submitting a request for all communications, in any form, 
between the Department and the Office of the Minister of Local Government regarding 
the Wellington City Council for October 2024. This includes any exchanges between the 
Minister and the Secretary. 
On 28 November 2024, we sought to clarify the scope of your request with you. Specifically, 
we sought to clarify whether you are seeking ‘communications, in any form, between the 
Department and the Office of the Minister of Local Government regarding potential Crown 
intervention into the Wellington City Council for October 2024’. 
We have not received a response from you and are interpreting your request as the above. 
Extension of your request 
Under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, the timeframe to respond to your request has been 
extended by five working days to 9 December 2024. This is because consultations necessary 
to make a decision on your request are such that we cannot respond within the original time 
limit. 
The Department will endeavour to provide you with a response earlier if possible.
