[FYI request #29118 email]
Tēnā koe John Wilson
Thank you for your email of 8 November 2024 in which you request the following under
the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):
I am writing to request, under the OIA, copies of any reports, memos, documents,
briefings, communications, or other materials that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade (MFAT) has produced or received relating to Israeli attacks on hospitals and
healthcare facilities in Northern Gaza since the beginning of October 2024.
If the quality of the information you must compile is prohibitive, please focus on
substantive documents, memos, briefings, etc., particularly those provided to the
Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Documents produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (the Ministry) have
focused on the humanitarian situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories as a whole,
not specific to attacks on hospitals and healthcare facilities in Northern Gaza. Accordingly,
your request is refused under section 18(e) of the OIA because the information requested
does not exist.
For your information, the Ministry regularly receives reports from the United Nations and
Non-Governmental Organisations on the humanitarian situation in the Occupied
Palestinian Territories. These reports are publicly available and can be found here:
reliefweb.int/ Please note that it is our policy to proactively release our responses to official information
requests where possible. Therefore, our response to your request (with your personal
information removed) may be published on the Ministry website:
