website, requesting information relating to Auckland Local Area Committee Member nominations.
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) and our response
is below.
1. May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
Applica�ons were opened from 25 September to 23 October 2024. Adver�sing for the Local
Advisory Commitee (LAC) Member – Auckland, was posted on the fol owing pla�orms:

• Ahu Jobs
• Appoint Better Boards and Institute of Directors
• LinkedIn - Fire and Emergency
• LinkedIn - Institute of Directors
• Facebook – Fire and Emergency
• Radio Waatea
• Ethnic radio programmes
• Fire and Emergency Careers website page
• Fire and Emergency LAC website page
• Govt.Jobs
We also gave the following agencies the opportunity to share the position with their networks:
• Manatū Wāhine - Ministry for Women
• Te Puni Kokiri - Ministry of Māori Development
• Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People
• Ministry for Pacific Peoples
• Local Iwi
• Auckland Council
2. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you have
received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your
role.
We can advise that 77 applica�ons were received, all of which were received from individual
applicants. Please note that the regula�ons governing the appointments process requires a public
nomina�ons approach, with no ability to co-opt members onto commitees. This requires an
independent applica�on rather than one from a nomina�ng agency.
3. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed in this recruitment
round
We can advise that at the �me your request was received, no shortlis�ng/interview decisions had
been made.
