Ministry for Children (Oranga Tamariki) requesting our abuse in state care apology in
both oral and written format in Te Reo Māori. Your request has been considered under
the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).

Final Apology Translation that contains the apology
written in English and Te Reo.
We do not hold a copy of the recording of the apology in Te Reo. As such, this part of
your request is refused under section 18(g)(i) of the Act, as the information is not held
by Oranga Tamariki nor do we have reason to believe it is held by any other
department.
Oranga Tamariki may make the information contained in this letter available to the
public by publishing this on our website with your personal details removed.
