Official Information Act request: Examples of health initiatives partnering with iwi 
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), received 
on 29 November 2024. You requested: 
 
“…[1] all the other examples of this approach [of partnering with local iwi and 
Māori groups] that the government have taken since coming to office  
[…and] 
[2] a list of all the meetings you've had "with iwi leaders up and down the 
country", just the dates and who you met with is fine for now…” 
 
For ease of reference, I have labelled your request as parts 1 and 2.  
 
I believe that part 1 of your request, which concerns information about health initiatives, 
is more closely connected to the functions of the Minister of Health (Hon Dr Shane 
Reti). Accordingly, under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act, I have decided to transfer this part 
of your request to the Minister for response. The other part of your request has not 
been transferred, and I will respond to this in due course. 
 
The Minister of Health has the usual time limits from receipt of this transfer to make a 
decision on your request.
