Thank you for your email of 2 December 2024 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
(MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing information:
On 1 May 2024 Robert Pigou published a report Kānoa – Regional Economic Development &
Investment Realignment Proposal for Change
My question is how many staff, and their titles and position/group within MBIE have
responsibilities related to Turoa in Kanoa.
Please also provide copies of all emails sent by Robert Pigou that mention ‘Turoa’ or are
sent/received from the Turoa Directors for the period August to November 2024.
On 16 January 2025, MBIE advised you that it was extending the time available to make a decision on
your request. The reason for the extension was that consultations necessary to make a decision on your
request were such that a proper response could not reasonably be made within the original time limit.
MBIE informed you that a decision would be sent to you no later than 27 January 2025.
Kānoa – Regional Development & Commercial Services (Kānoa – RD & Commercial Services) does not
have specific roles or responsibilities assigned solely to Turoa as staff work across a range of
responsibilities, covering multiple areas. Therefore, it is not possible to provide an exact number of staff
whose work specifically relates to Turoa.
