Official information request for grade distribution for all ECS papers in 2024
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act)
dated 6 December 2024:
“I would like to request a grade distribution for each course in 2024 run by the
Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science. Other requests have received
responses that miss full year courses such as ENGR489, please be sure to include
these.”
Information regarding courses run by the School of Engineering and Computer Science in
Trimester 2 2024, and those run across Trimester 1 and 2 in 2024, is available in the
attached document.
Please note, information on courses with low participation numbers, or distributions that
may enable the grade of a specific individual to be identified is withheld in accordance
with s9(2)(a) of the Act in order to protect the privacy of natural persons.
Grade distributions for courses in Trimester 1 2024 run by the School of Engineering and
Computer Science are publicly available at
https://fyi.org.nz/request/27677/response/105878/attach/html/3/Response%20Attach
ment.xlsx.html. Therefore, this aspect of your request is refused in accordance with
s18(d) of the Act as the information requested is already publicly available.
Grades for courses in Trimester 3 2024 have not yet been finalised as the Trimester is still
underway. Therefore, this aspect of your request is refused in accordance with s18(e) of
the Act as the information does not exist.
