I refer to your information request dated 7 December 2024 made under the O icial Information 
Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
I would like to request the number of first round o ers for med 2025 from the HSFY 
cohort including the following information broken down in each category separately ( 
Pacifica, general etc.) 1. Number of o ers 2. Minimum grade to receive an o er 3. 
Number of waitlist o ers and minimum grade to receive waitlist o er 4. Number of 
applicants that did not meet ucat criteria (I understand that this only applies to general) 
 
Our response to your request follows. 
 
Unfortunately it is not possible at this time to provide the detailed information you seek about 
o ers for entry to the Otago Medical School medical degree programme (MB ChB) in 2025.   
 
While the process for submitting applications for the 2025 MB ChB programme closed on 15 
September 2024, processing of applications is continuing.  This includes academic 
achievement for the HSFY cohort, and this process will not be complete until relevant results 
are available, including Special Consideration exams. 
 
However, once these processes have concluded, the University has in the past provided 
information of the kind you seek.  In the case of the MB ChB programme, this is usually 
complete in the first quarter of each year. 
 
We therefore decline your request under section 18(g) of the Act, as the information requested 
is not held.  We would be happy to consider a new request from you when the application 
process is completed if you still wish to receive this information. 
 
We hope this information is useful. 
 
If you are not satisfied with our response to your information request, section 28(3) of the Act 
provides you with the right to ask an Ombudsman to investigate and review this response.
