COO are responding to a media query around any changes to the approach towards Syrian na onals, following the 
latest events in Syria. A response is being worked up to go out tomorrow.

The query was sent to MFAT, with (highlighted) immigration questions referred by MFAT to us as a heads up: 
Has the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) reviewed or is in the process of reviewing travel advice, quotas 
or policy relating to Syria, in light of the fall of President Bashar al-Assad? 
  1  A) If so  what has been reviewed or is currently under review?

s9(2)(g)(ii) – I assume nothing changes in the claim space, other than that the assessment for Syrian claimants would
take into account current in-country informa on?
