Extension of time to respond to request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 17 December 2024 requesting the following information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
Could you please provide me with a list of vehicle and/or passenger tracking 
systems such as BlipTrack that are used by NZTA and any associated privacy 
assessment documents. If possible, please provide the method of tracking used. 
 
If there are information sharing agreement with government or private companies, 
please provide these as well. 
 
This letter is to advise you that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is extending the 20 
working days available to respond to your request, as allowed for under section 15A of the Act. 
We require an additional 10 working days and will send you a response on or before 20 February 
2025.  
 
The deadline is being extended as the consultations necessary to make a decision on your 
request are such that a thorough response cannot reasonably be made within the original 20 
working day limit.  
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to complain to the Ombudsman about the 
extension. More information about the Ombudsman is available online at 
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
