Request for information 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 4 January 2025, in which you 
requested:  
1. Please supply me any phone calls from ' Pike River control and Ben Rockhouse"
These can be supplied in any format.
2. Also please supply me SCADA data or " virtual machine data: in any format that is
preferable to NZ Police. As you have a electronic crime lab I am sure you are
capable of this.
3. Please also provide me the SCADA data from your work with Pike River Recovery
Agency and any emails related to electrical works within this scope.
If the data is subject to investigation or criminal proceeding, please provide data that 
falls outside of this scope. 
The information you seek is a fundamental part of the on-going criminal investigation into the 
Pike River Mine explosion, therefore Police is withholding the information requested in full 
pursuant to section 6(c) of the OIA, as the making available of the information would be likely to 
prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation and detection of 
offences, and the right to a fair trial. 
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the OIA, to make a complaint to an Ombudsman 
about this extension.  Information about how to make a complaint is available at
