Thank you for your request of 14 January 2025, to Fire and Emergency New Zealand requesting 
information relating to plans to replace fire appliance Wellington City 211. Your request has been 
considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) and our response is below. 
 
1.  Was FENZ intending to replace Wel ington 211 with a new build MAN pump in 2024? 
 
2.  If so, what was the timeline for this replacement? 
 
The Wellington 211 MAN appliance (Fraser Fire Build) was planned to be replaced with another 
MAN appliance (Angloco build) in 2023. 
 
3.  Has there been variation to the timeline, if so, why? 
 
This has been delayed due to the newer MAN appliance going through operational testing and 
requiring changes to be made to it from initial postproduction delivery, prior to it being placed into 
operational use. 
 
Some of the components were similar to those being supplied on the new next generation Type 3 
Scania appliances that required changing following user trials, as they did not meet our 
requirements. 
 
4.  Is there a finalised timeline for replacement?  What is that timeline and what are the 
vehicles involved? 
 
The timeline for the completion of this work is yet to be determined.
