We write in respect of our correspondence to you dated 12 February 2025, where you requested 
the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA): 
 
•  I would like to request documentation listing the rank insignia for Natural Environment-
based brigades (as defined in OIA 16675), including epaulettes, cap, gorgets, and helmet 
markings. 
 
Unfortunately, the information provided to you in our previous response is not correct. We regret 
this error and any confusion that it may have caused. We can advise that a formal decision 
regarding the rank insignia for our volunteer brigades has not yet been determined. For this 
reason, we are unable to provide the requested documentation and should have (and are) 
therefore refusing your request under section 18(e) of the OIA, as the document(s) al eged to 
contain the requested information do not exist. 
 
We appreciate that decisions regarding Rank are a priority for our people. A programme of work 
has commenced and regular updates will be communicated as progress is made. 
 
Again, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this omission may have caused. If you wish to
