I refer to your email dated 10 February, requesting the following under the Official Information Act
1982 (the Act):
“evidence/data of royal assent by way of written declaration/signature of the Sovereign, or
more likely that of the Governor-general, or of an official representative of the Crown,
whichever was the case in the aforementioned two Acts;
'Land Transport Act 1998'
'Transport Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing Act 1986'”
The documents you have asked for, also known as ‘Assented Versions’, are not held by the
Ministry of Transport (the Ministry) but are held by Archives New Zealand. We have not transferred
your request under the Official Information Act as your request is dealt with under the Public
Records Act’s access regime.
Archives NZ has advised that the records in question are part of series 8006 Assented Acts
(retained), which are held in the Archives NZ Wellington office -
