Thank you for your email of 3 February 2025 requesting the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
What is the accident or crash history over recent years on Cascade Road in Botany Downs, 
Auckalnd? 
What is the ranking of the road in terms of the most dangerous roads in Auckland? 
 
The following documents fall within the scope of your request and are enclosed: 
 
  OIA-17536 - Nadd Jonathan.xlsx – contains 10 years of crash data for Cascades Road. 
 
The data in the spreadsheet (OIA-17536 – Nadd Jonathan.xlsx) should be read in conjunction with the 
caveats on the first page of the spreadsheet. 
 
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) does not have information ranking the most dangerous 
roads in Auckland therefore I am refusing this part of your request under section 18(g) as the 
information requested is not held by NZTA and there are no grounds to believe the information is 
either held by or more closely connected with the functions of another department or Minister of the 
Crown or organisation, or by a local authority. 
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse 
part of this request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at

In line with NZTA policy, this response will soon be published on our website, with personal
