Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-038596
Thank you for your email of 5 March 2025, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Please disclose the title of a Qualified Medical Professional who checks over a Medical Report
that is submitted to the ACC by an ACC Accredited Clinician
Our response
We have interpreted your request as referring to Permanent Impairment Compensation Assessments
(Assessments).
Peer reviewers for these Assessments are experienced ACC approved Impairment Assessors, who
must also meet the following criteria:
1. Be approved by ACC to provide a Peer Review Service; and
2. Be trained in using the American Medical Association’s Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent
Impairment (4th Edition) and “The ACC User Handbook to AMA4”; and
3. Be contracted Impairment Assessment Suppliers who have maintained their competency
through attending refresher training as well as providing Impairment Assessments; and
4. Have demonstrated the ability to produce Impairment Assessment reports of a consistently
high standard.
