We  refer  to  your  request  under  the  Official  Information  Act  (1982),  dated  5  August  2015  and  subsequently 
transferred to us from the Ministry of Health on 12 August requesting the following information.  
 
  All contact details for the internal numbers and external numbers for calling all hospitals and medical 
clinics under the Christchurch District Health Board.  This is to provide patient care to a social cause that 
is embargoed. 
 
Canterbury  DHB  external  numbers  for  contacting  hospitals  and  medical  clinics,  including  addresses,  phone 
numbers and location maps can be found on our website at www.cdhb.health.nz/About-CDHB/Pages/Contact-
Us.aspx;  and  additional  information  for  all  wards  and  departments,  Maternity,  Outpatients  and  Clinics  is 
available on https://whitepages.co.nz/w/canterbury-district-health-burwood;  
 
We emailed you on the 13 August  2015 asking you to clarify the purpose and scope of your request  for the 
‘internal’ numbers with a view to narrowing it and at this time we have not heard back from you. 
 
We  are  therefore  declining  your  request  for  the  contact  details  for  the  internal  numbers  for  calling  CDHB 
hospitals and medical clinics under section 18(f) of the Official Information Act (1982) i.e. 
“18(f) ….that the information requested cannot be made available without substantial collation or research.” 
 
You are entitled to complain to an Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review of our decision to decline 
part of your request.
