[FYI request #30230 email]
Dear Valerie Morse
Thank you for your email and for bringing this to our attention. I’ve spoken with the relevant
team and confirm this point of your request should have been refused under section 18(d) of
the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act), as the document was already publicly available.
However, please do note that the information contained in column 6 of the table regarding
the Bioplant is in scope of your request but has been withheld under section 9(2)(b)(i ) of the
Act, as making this available would be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial
position of the person who supplied or who is the subject of the information.
The excerpt of the document we released to you reflects the information in-scope of your
request. Please be assured no other information was withheld that is not already available
on our website. We apologise for this oversight in our response and hope this addresses
your concerns.
Regarding the folder mentioned in our response letter, we would like to clarify that this folder
was a holding place for further information on projects nominated by Minister McLay. The
folder does contain information, but it does not include any information in-scope of your
request or specifically relating to the Tairāwhiti Bioplant.
We apologise if our response caused any confusion or concern - no information in that folder
has been deleted. That said, the excerpt of the document we released to you reflects the
information in-scope of your request.
Please accept our apologies again for the misunderstanding and do not hesitate to contact
us if you require further clarification.
Yours sincerely
Jo Gascoigne
