Mr Nick Farlow
Via email -
[FYI request #30344 email] Kia ora Nick
I refer to your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), asking:
“You are listed as a major partner for the Global women organisation.
Please advise your funding to this organisation over the last 4 financial years, including the current.
As this is not a commercial organisation I don't believe that there is any commercial sensitivity with
this information. I also note that it is in the public interest to be aware of your organisation
discretionary expenditure in view of the current fiscal 'climate'”
We are withholding our major partner funding contribution to Global Women, under Section 9(2)(b)(ii)
– Commercial position of a third party. To make this information available would be likely to
unreasonably prejudice the commercial position of Global Women.
KiwiRail joined Global Women in October 2022 as a major partner. KiwiRail holds a number of paid
memberships to associations that support our organisation’s business goals.
We publicly disclose our association memberships and total annual expenditure to the Transport and
Infrastructure Select Committee.
The follow information is taken from 2023/24 Annual review of KiwiRail Holdings Limited and is
publicly available here:

agency or organisation a paid member of in 2023/24? For each, what was the cost for each of its
memberships? How does this compare to each of the previous four financial years?
