Lead the implementation and evolution of a data strategy which supports the overall NZTE

Contribute actively to the development of strategies and plans for wider NZTE ensuring that
the contribution of data is incorporated.

Coordinate enterprise data management, oversee data management projects and provide
data and analytics advisory services to NZTE.

timely and accurate reporting of activity and performance information as well as clinical

Establish and ensure implementation of appropriate data governance systems which
conform to legal and New Zealand Government Chief Data Steward requirements and fit
within the wider governance systems of the New Zealand public service.

Establish and maintain an effective data risk register, manage identified risks and escalate

Ensure the reduction, identification, management, and reporting of untoward data breaches
and data security incidents.

Establish and ensure compliance with the requirements of data and information
governance, New Zealand privacy, data protection, data rights and freedom of information
guidance and legislation.

Establish and ensure that disaster recovery plans are in place for all data services and that
these are routinely tested, weakness identified, and appropriate improvement plans
developed and implemented.

Build rapport with key stakeholders to influence others to consider your point of view and
gain support and agreement for plans, changes and new approaches.

Create executive leadership commitment to champion data as a strategic business asset to
drive significant new data insight opportunities across NZTE

Transform and align NZTE through its people to drive for improvement in data quality and

NZTE has launched a new three-year strategy, underpinned by an ambition to deliver more
